KK has been working in the railway industry for 40+ years covering rolling stock and infrastructure maintenance, new lines and major asset upgrading/replacement projects, metro operations and business development. During the past 5 years KK has been working initially on the Sydney Metro Northwest project as the O&M Bid Director for the OTS1 contract and recently on the planning, design and contract procurement for the Sydney Metro City and Southwest project. He has been fully involved with the installation and T&C of the CBTC system for the Sydney Metro Northwest project from 2016 to 2019.

KK was educated in Hong Kong Polytechnic University in Hong Kong and Leeds Metropolitan University in UK. He holds a B Sc degree in applied computing, an M Sc degree in electrical engineering, an Executive MBA degree and an Engineering Doctorate degree. KK had also received management training in the British Rail in the early 1980’s. He is a Chartered Engineer (UK) and a corporate member of IET (UK).

KK is one of the pioneers in the application of Fiber Bragg Grating sensors for the continuous condition monitoring of mission critical components of railways and a renowned expert on railway asset maintenance. In the past few years, he has been delivering training for railway engineers on asset maintenance and the applications of smart railway condition monitoring system on behalf of IEEE, MTR Hong Kong and SMRT Singapore.
